Your mission

We are looking for a Scientific Communications Manager (Freelance) with a background in physics or quantum computing to help us create high quality, engaging blog content around our quantum technology and the work of our PIQC division.

This is a flexible, project-based freelance role ideal for a PhD candidate, researcher, or science communicator looking to turn complex technical developments into clear, compelling written pieces for a broader audience.

  • Type: Freelance / Part-time

  • Location: Remote 

  • Duration: Initial 1-3 months (project based, extension possible)

  • Commitment: Flexible / Low weekly hours (as agreed based on availability)

  • Start: As soon as possible


You will:

  • Research, write, and edit high quality blog posts and articles highlighting our research, technology, partnerships, and milestones.

  • Interface with scientists, researchers, and technical experts to understand complex developments and turn their work into clear, engaging narratives.

  • Proactively identify interesting topics, angles, and stories across our ongoing projects rather than relying solely on predefined briefs.

  • Translate complex quantum physics topics into accurate, accessible, and compelling content tailored for industry stakeholders, enthusiasts, and general tech audiences.

  • Ensure all written content meets high standards of technical accuracy, clarity, and scientific credibility.

Your profile

  • Educational background (B.Sc., M.Sc., or ongoing PhD) in Physics, Quantum Science, or a closely related scientific discipline is required.

  • Proven experience in science writing, technical writing, blogging, journalism, or academic editorial work.

  • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to find compelling angles within complex scientific subject matter.

  • Excellent research skills and confidence interacting with scientists and technical experts to extract key insights.

  • High attention to detail, editorial standards, and factual accuracy.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage deliverable deadlines independently.

  • Fluent written and spoken English skills. German is a plus.
